I bought this product at the suggestion of my opthamologist to help with the health of my eyes. I have many eye problems one being the white mucus that builds up while you sleep. Mine was excessive, however, as long as I take optimized folate I have absolutely NONE of this any more.

I am really satisfied but will looking for an another brand what offer lower dose. I was looking for a lower dose - 1,000 mcg of 5-MTHF folate. Life Extension 1,000 mcg of 5-MTHF folate was offered you can see many pictures in reviews. I take 1,700 every second or third day. Hopefully Life Extension 1,000 mcg will be in stock soon again!!

Everyone in my family has high homocysteine levels, so my doctor recommended that I take 5-MTHF to help with the problem. High homocysteine levels are linked to high inflammation levels/heart disease. High homocysteine levels can also cause anxiety and unrelenting insomnia. After three days of taking this, I was sleeping through the night.

Quality product, I have had quite low folate levels and this product has helped me to reach better levels. The size of the pills are small and easy to take with water. No flavor or bad taste. Ingredients are good quality and the 1700mcg dose has worked for me. Package is easy to use and has helpful information about the product.

I use this for heart and congnitive health. Certainly helps with clarity. This is folate in the form of 5-MTHF, the metabolically active form of folic acid, which makes it easier to absorb for those with the genetic predisposition of not being able to make the conversiaon in their bodies. Pleased to have found this quality in the capsule.

L-Methylfolate, also commonly known as 5-MTHF, is the active form of vitamin B9 the human body can actually use. L- and 6(S)- forms are biologically active, while D- and 6(R)- are not. Any folic acid or folate we ingest must be converted into its active form (L-methylfolate) to be useful. However this becomes a problem if you cannot do this conversion effectively, such as those with an MTHFR mutation. It is also better absorbed and interacts with fewer medications than folic acid.

My body can’t use the folic acid, that’s why I chose this metabolicly active form of it. The pills are small so it is perfect.
